GALAXIAN

Pioneering video game created by Namco in 1979 for arcade machines with Z80 CPUs and later published on computers and consoles of the time such as the Atari 2600, Commodore 64, Atari 5200, ColecoVision, MSX, Nintendo NES, ZX Spectrum, and Apple II among others. Like Space Invaders, the game was a huge success and even more so due to the use of a full RGB color palette. The player controls a spaceship with only lateral movements and shoots a swarm of enemy aliens before they reach the base.

The game is made possible by the open source Flash emulator Ruffle.
